Dealer Costumes For Casino Night Party

When hosting a casino themed party you'll need to either hire professional dealers or volunteers to run the games. We've seen both methods work quite successfully at casino parties. Whichever method you choose be sure to give your dealers some appropriate wear for the evening.
Adult Costumes: Card Dealer
A fun idea that we've seen at parties with a dress-code of semi-formal or higher and assuming you are choosing volunteers as dealers for the evening. You tell a few guests who have volunteered to help out being your dealer. The idea is that you get them to dress as a dealer for the night and not the proper dress code. They can then play the role of the dealer for the night even when they are not dealing!

If you'd rather not put extra work on your guests then we recommend you provide them with a costume or at least a few props. You can buy the props from most online costume stores like Costumekingdom.com or ShindigZ.com. However, you (or they) can easily make a dealers costume with a few simple props. Most of these supplies are available at second-hand stores. The basics supplies necessary are a viser and vest, preferably green or something tacky. For a few more details you can get some Vegas paraphernalia.

Dealers are an important part of any casino party and can actually become a source of conversation. Incorporating the dealers in the evenings activities makes them feel like they're not missing the party by being a dealer. So consider giving your guests and dealers something to discuss by providing them with a costume.

Once you've determined that hosting a casino themed party for your graduation party the next step is determining which activities and games to include for your party. Here are a few suggestions to take into consideration.
A Night In Vegas Backdrop Each

Gambling Related Games - You'll want to ensure that you have a wide-range of gambling games. This includes everyone's favorite casino games like blackjack, craps and roulette. Depending on the number of people you may need a number of the same games, ie: 2+ blackjack tables, etc... Click Here To See Gambling Related Party Supplies

Non-Gambling Related Games - You'll want to have games for when people run out of money and interest in gambling. A few suggestions that we've seen that work good are karaoke, rockband. You can also choose something a bit more extreme like horizontal bungee jumping or something of that nature. Click here For Non-Gambling Related Party Supplies

Dance Floor - At any graduation party you'll want to ensure that you have an area for a dance floor and appropriate DJ. The dance floor should be far enough from the other activities to not be too loud for the rest of the casino.

Remember that at each activity you'll need a volunteer to run the activity. Volunteers are typically slated into 1 hour shifts throughout the night so be sure to plan the number of volunteers accordingly.

Casino Party Basic Snacks & Food

At most parties that you host you'll want to provide some sort of food for your guests. The amount and selection of food is up to you, however, we have a few suggestions that you have at your casino party. Whatever you choose to serve at your casino party be sure that you can do as much preparation before the party as possible. You don't want to be stuck in the kitchen cooking food when everyone else is out having fun gambling at your tables.

Chips & Crisps - Chips and crisps are great to have at your party as they can be placed throughout your party for your guests to munch on while gambling.

Finger Foods - Finger foods are intended to put a bit of food in your belly, however, you aren't required to feed people dinner for the night. Some idea of finger food are vegetable sticks, pork riblettes, chicken wings, etc...

Non-Alcoholic Drinks - You will want to ensure you have juice and soda. There is nothing worse than being a designated driver and not finding something to drink at a party.

Alcoholic Drinks - You may or may not be serving alcoholic drinks at your party. If you are serving the alcohol then consider reading out article about running a bar at a casino party.

Snacks, finger food and non-alcoholic drinks are an important part of any party that serves alcohol. Be sure to drink and drive responsibly.

Tips For Volunteer Dealers At A Casino Party

At every casino party you will need dealers to run the tables and games. You have two options for your dealers: renting dealers in your hometown or getting volunteers who will attend you party to be the dealers. The choice is really up to you, however, we've found that if your party is smaller that volunteers work just as well as professional dealers. However, at a larger party (say a graduation party) you may want to rent dealers or get volunteers who aren't attending the party to deal.
Dealers Vest Casino Each
Here are a few suggestions to help you manage your volunteer dealers at your casino night.

1) Get a dealer vest to recognize who the dealers are. This is also great because then the person isn't recognized as the dealer the whole evening.

2) Tell them which game(s) they will be dealing ahead of time. If they know which game they can refresh themselves on the game to ensure that everything can run smoothly.

3) Have them arrive early to the party so they can practice the game that they will deal

4) Ensure the dealer shifts are short (an hour long) and have a replacement fill in. This is definitely required for 75% of your volunteer dealers, however, some people will really enjoy their shift and want to stay and deal all night. If they are having fun then why not?

Hopefully, these tips for your volunteer dealers will help the evening go much smoother and you won't have games that are shut down because nobody is there to deal them.

As well, these casino night banners are made from heavy-duty, weather-resistant vinyl with sturdy metal grommets for hanging indoors or outdoors. Roulette Wheel A Must At Any Casino Themed Night

May 25, 2009 by admin

The roulette wheel is one of the big highlights of any casino be it a casino themed party or a real Las Vegas casino. When hosting your own Casino Party you should definitely have a roulette wheel. Many casino themed parties opt not to have the roulette wheel as it's too much work, however, it's not and here's how you do it.

  • Get a rotating dealer to work shifts
  • Set the payouts to be simple
  • Have everyone collect their own chips

Roulette Wheel Set Each

Dealers

You will need dealers working tables at all your casino games. It doesn't matter if the dealer is working blackjack or roulette as they both need a dealer. Therefore, this should not be the largest drawback of having a roulette wheel. Your dealer will find that Roulette is actually not as complicated as it looks and being the dealer is not only fun but also quite entertaining.

Payouts

The payouts for roulette can often be very complicated with so many different options. The easiest way to keep things easy is to set your own payouts. Simply create the payouts as I've shown below (or some modification of below) then post it on the wall behind the dealer. Also, don't be afraid of setting the odds in the players favor. Roulette has one of the worst odds in a normal casino why have your players face those bad odds? Simply set it slightly better. Rather then 35-1 for an exact number set it to 40-1.

Chip Distribution

One of the biggest headaches of running a roulette table is trying to get all the chips sorted and back out to the players. You will notice
at a Las Vegas casino that the roulette table has at least 3 people working. At your casino you probably don't have this luxury. Instead get some of the players who are playing to help out by sorting their own chips. As the money is all fake you shouldn't worry too much about people taking money.

ShinDigZ has a great selection of roulette wheels and felts at their store.

How To Write A Casino Party Invitations

Sending out invitations is an important part to any party and even for a casino themed party. You have the option of online invitations or paper invitations. Here are some things you'll want to ensure are on the invitations.
Roulette Wheel Invitation Each

  • What - ie: casino party celebrating....
  • Place (Location)
  • Time
  • Directions
  • What to bring (if anything)
  • Dress Attire (costume? black tie? semi-formal?)
  • Cost (if anything)

You'll also want to include various other details like what time the casino and/or bar opens and closes. As well, it's always a good idea to write please drink responsibly (or something of that nature). Remember that it's better to include more information rather then too little. Most people will skim the invitation when they receive it to get the gist and respond accordingly. Then a few days before (or the day of the party) they will re-read the invitation for directions and more pertinent information. Be sure to include enough information that everyone can dress, act and get to the right location appropriately!

Dress Code For Casino Night Party

May 23, 2009 by admin

The dress code for a casino night can sometimes set the mood for the evening. You can really set the dress code to whatever you like from casual to semi-formal to black-tie. In fact, you can even make the party a 50's party and have the dress code for that generation.

We recommend setting the party either semi-formal or even formal. This creates a very fun atmosphere as everyone has spent a bit of time getting ready. This means they took the time to get ready they will take the time to gamble and have a great time. If you set the dress code as "casual" people are less likely to take it seriously as very little preparation (on their part) was required. A 50's party theme is a fun dress code because you can get a wide range of dress codes. In fact, you can see everything from the usual black tie, long dresses with boas to people dressed as working class people.

Finally, you should ensure that your casino invitation states that "costume is required" or "appropriate attire is required". If you're friends are typically lazy stating "costume is required or no entrance will be allowed" is a good option. You don't want people to be allowed to simply not read or just show up without a costume.

Remember, just because you enjoy dressing up doesn't mean that everyone does. If someone shows up who isn't dressed up you have a few choices: tell them to go get dressed up, provided them with their own costume or just let them in. If everyone at the party is dressed and they're the only ones who don't show up dressed up they will probably feel rather silly and eventually want that change of clothes.
