Casino Night Party - Best Sellers and Most Popular Games

This article is a follow up to the Casino Night Party Most Popular Decorations. The point of the articles is to help everyone know the most common and popular games for a casino night party. Then you can use them to either include them in your party (ie: not forgetting anything) or to NOT include them so that you keep the party very unique. Either way it's a good way to see what other games people are having without attending a huge amount of casino night parties (if that's even possible!).

Most Popular Casino Games
1) Roulette
Roulette is a game that gives you a chance to win big! As well, you can play with tons of chips and scatter them around the board feeling like a winner almost every time. This game is a little harder to run at a casino night because some people don't know how to play and giving out the chips is a little harder. However, you can make it easier on yourself and dealer by changing the odds as you wish.

Check out the Roulette Wheel and felt table cover here.

2) Blackjack
Blackjack is one of the most popular games at a casino whether it's real or fake. The action and odds make this a favorite among gamblers. The added bonus of this game is that it's very easy to run and most people know how to play!

Check out Blackjack felt table covers here.

3) Poker
Ever since Chris Moneymaker won the world series from playing online poker has grown in popularity. The action and ability to 'read' people makes this a classic game at any casino. There are two drawbacks to this game at your casino night. First, the people playing poker usually get really into the game and will usually stop mingling around the party. Second, to make it run smoother you need a dealer and one who knows what they're doing. That being said this is a great game and if you don't have it at your party you might be surprised to find out an impromptu game happening!

4) Craps
This game is a super fun game that makes a lot of noise at a casino with people shouting and cheering. The thrill of the game is that when one person is doing good EVERYONE is winning! This game usually requires some explanation as most people won't have played this game. However, once they have it'll be the thrill of the party!

Check out a craps felt table cover here.

Hopefully those four games give you a good idea of what to have at your Casino Night party. Be sure to include at least two of those games in your party and encourage 'action' at each table!

As I mentioned in my last post about Casino Night Dollar decorations, dollar decorations are a great way to add that 'money' aspect to your party. Although the foil dollar decoration and dangler dollar decoration aren't expensive it is nice to save a bit of money. This article helps you to make a few dollar decorations that will save you money, won't take forever and will still look great!

Supplies Needed

  • Construction Paper
  • Card Stock Paper
  • Gold Glitter
  • Silver Glitter
  • Wood or paper glue

Foil Dollar Sign Dangler
foil dollar danglerThese home-made foil dollar sign danglers look great and are super easy to make. Highly recommended to make these yourself rather than buying them!

  1. Cut out a dollar sign from white or yellow cardstock paper
  2. Decorate with gold (or silver) glitter

Now making the dangler part of the decoration (see video below)

  1. On a piece of construction paper or cardstock paper draw a circle.
  2. In the circle draw a spiral toward the middle (this doesn't have to be perfect)
  3. Now cut out the spiral from the circle
  4. Attach the dollar sign to the spiral and attach to the roof!

Foil Dollar Sign

  1. Here you can make a foil dollar sign to use as a centerpiece of a table.
  2. Grab a piece of cardstock paper (white or yellow) and cut out two dollar signs
  3. Now decorate the cardstock paper with lots of gold glitter
  4. Glue the two pieces together at the top
  5. Attach cardstock pieces to the side and glue to the dollar signs
  6. At this point the dollar sign 'should' stand on it's own (like a tent) and is ready for display!

Hopefully this helps you start thinking creatively so that you can come up with more ways to use the glitter, cardstock and glue!

Casino Night Party Costume Ideas

July 8, 2010 by admin

casino party costume maleWhen attending or hosting a casino night party you want to be sure that you show up with the right attire. Casino night party costumes are actually one of the most diverse costumes, believe it or not. However, the first thing you must do is find out what the Casino night party is all about. Is it 'suppose' to be a black-tie event? Or is it just a fun Casino night party? Or is there an accompanying theme to go with it for example: "roaring 30's casino party".

Once you find that out you can start planning your costume accordingly starting here.

If you know that it's just a general fun Casino night party then you can use one of the following ideas.

1) Dress up as a Mobster
Mobsters ruled Las Vegas casinos for many many years. Use this to your advantage and dress up as a classy mobster. The guys can wear a full-pinstriped suit with a fedora hat (as seen here). The ladies can wear a sexy pin-stripped dress, hat and have a long ciagrette holder (as seen here).

2) High Roller Costume

The high-roller costume is how you're trying to show everyone that you have the money to spend. If you have fancy clothes at home (suit, tux, etc) use that and have dollar bills flowing out of all the pockets. Otherwise use one of the pre-made high-roller costumes.

3) Dress up as a beach-goer
Most of the famous casino's around the world are placed in warm sunny locations (Vegas, Monaco, , etc..). From this you can dress up as a surfer dude or surfer chick. You can explain to people you wanted to play a few games before heading to the beach. This is a very easy costume as all you really need is your bathing suit, towel and t-shirt.

4) Poker player
You can dress the part of a famous poker player like Chris Moneymaker. The key parts of this costume is the sunglasses and stare-down.

5) Lady Luck costume

The lady luck costume is very tacky and terrific casino night costume. The costume has the 'superstitious' accents: horseshoe, rabbit's foot, 4 leaf clover, etc..

6) Playing card costume
A playing card costume is another costume that not everyone will want to wear. However, it's a funny costume for those who can take a laugh. The costume features a rigid playing card created by laminating foam onto polyester. You can pair this with a few friends have a poker hand (ex: full-house, etc... )

Honorable mentions: Elvis, Showgirl, Card Dealer and Vegas Vixen.

Hopefully these casino night party costumes get your brain thinking about your costume. Be sure to leave enough time to create or buy the perfect costume especially since Casino night parties take a lot of work to organize and are a LOT of fun!

Funny Accents For A Little Fun At A Casino Party

June 6, 2009 by admin

Hosting a casino themed party doesn't have to be 100% about the casino and gambling. Sometimes it's fun to have a few accents that are sorta related to the casino night but will give people a chuckle. Here are a few ideas that are a fun way to surprise your guests and maybe even make them chuckle.

1) Flashing red ice-cubes. You can buy these flashing ice-cubes and have them behind your bar at the party. Randomly throughout the night you can tell your bartender to put them in people's drinks. This will definitely surprise them if they've never seen such a thing!

2) Dancing Elvis Scene Setter. Elvis is the king and was the king of Vegas for years. If you're holding a Las Vegas themed party having an Elvis at the party is a must!

3) Toilet Paper Money Roll - This is a normal roll of toilet paper created with fake $1 bills. This is a great thing to put in your bathroom for people to get a good laugh by themselves!

Hopefully some of these ideas will spur you to add a few accents to your party.

Casino Equipment Rentals and Party Providers Directory

June 5, 2009 by admin

Here is a quick site update that I think is needed for this site and the internet in general. I'm in the process of creating a casino party directory. I'm going to list all the equipment rentals, party providers, dealers available and other casino party providers in one place on the site. The goal is that if you're organizing a casino party and need dealers or party supplies you can use the directory to find the information quickly. As an example: if you live in California and need a craps table for the evening you'll be able to enter you city and state and find all the equipment rental places available around your city in California.

If you're a merchant reading this and want to get added to the directory I will need the details list below. If you'd like to add a description of your service to your directory listing the cost is a one time $5 fee. The $5 will also create a 'do follow' hyperlink to your website. This is a nominal fee to help recoup the work that I'm putting into the directory. I'm still working on getting my payment system in place so the charge is waived until July 1st, 2009.

Please send me these details about your site.

  • Company Name
  • Website URL
  • Phone Number
  • City
  • State
  • Country
  • Service Area (where your company will serve)
  • Equipment Rental (yes/no)
  • Party Planning (yes/no)
  • Party Providers (yes/no)
  • Description of services (optional)

Are Casino Themed Parties Expensive?

One of the questions we often get asked when people are considering hosting a casino themed parties is, Are they expensive? Or How much is this going to cost me? The answer, as with all parties, is that it depends. How many people are you planning for? Are you providing food and alcohol? What is the size of the venue? Are you getting volunteer dealers? etc...

Casino Night Party - Fake Money

June 1, 2009 by admin

One of the keys to any casino night party is the money or chips. You will need a combination of paper money and poker chips depending on which games you will have at the party. However, the one thing you will want to ensure is that you have money and obviously, you don't want to use real money for logistical and legal reasons. However, it's great to have money that looks and feels like real money. The best source that we've found is U.S. toy fake money found here.

U.S. Toy fake money is great as it's not that expensive as you get 1000 sheets of fake money per order. It also comes in denominations of 1, $5, $10, $20, $50, $100,$500, $1000.

Another option is the fake casino cash which only includes 100 pieces at a lower cost. The reviews on this cash says it looks and feels too large which may or may not be an option depending on how 'exact' you'd like your party to be. Check it out here.

One of the best ways to run the party is to give each person who comes to the party a set amount of money. Then at the end of the night see who has the most money! Or you can also have 'prizes' where people can 'bet' on each item.
