Homemade Casino Night Decorations - Dollar Decoations
As I mentioned in my last post about Casino Night Dollar decorations, dollar decorations are a great way to add that 'money' aspect to your party. Although the foil dollar decoration and dangler dollar decoration aren't expensive it is nice to save a bit of money. This article helps you to make a few dollar decorations that will save you money, won't take forever and will still look great!
Supplies Needed
- Construction Paper
- Card Stock Paper
- Gold Glitter
- Silver Glitter
- Wood or paper glue
Foil Dollar Sign Dangler
These home-made foil dollar sign danglers look great and are super easy to make. Highly recommended to make these yourself rather than buying them!
- Cut out a dollar sign from white or yellow cardstock paper
- Decorate with gold (or silver) glitter
Now making the dangler part of the decoration (see video below)
- On a piece of construction paper or cardstock paper draw a circle.
- In the circle draw a spiral toward the middle (this doesn't have to be perfect)
- Now cut out the spiral from the circle
- Attach the dollar sign to the spiral and attach to the roof!
Foil Dollar Sign
- Here you can make a foil dollar sign to use as a centerpiece of a table.
- Grab a piece of cardstock paper (white or yellow) and cut out two dollar signs
- Now decorate the cardstock paper with lots of gold glitter
- Glue the two pieces together at the top
- Attach cardstock pieces to the side and glue to the dollar signs
- At this point the dollar sign 'should' stand on it's own (like a tent) and is ready for display!
Hopefully this helps you start thinking creatively so that you can come up with more ways to use the glitter, cardstock and glue!
Homemade Decorations For Casino Night Party
Hosting a casino night party can get expensive in a hurry especially when you HAVE to buy a few props like a
Casino Custom Banner and
Roulette Wheel. However, luckily if you have a bit of time you can always make a few of your decorations yourself. Here are a few suggestions to make your own casino night decorations.
Casino Streamers - You can create simple and cool looking casino streamers easily. Simply get a few papers of red and black construction paper. You then fold it up into many pieces and cut out a diamond or heart or spade or club. The idea being you are creating the equivalent of a winter time 'snowflake on paper' except using construction paper and card suits. The larger the piece of construction paper the more fold and the larger the streamer.

Table Felts - Go to (or call) your nearest fabric store and ask if they have any green felt. For each game you will need a piece of felt the size of your table plus about 6" - 12" overhang. Using black (or red) electrical tape mark out the areas for cards for whichever game you are designing. This is a simple and effective method to create a realistic casino layout, however, if you're looking for something more professional ShindigZ.com - the World's Largest Party Superstore has a variety of felt layouts starting at
Casino Danglers - The final decoration that looks good is casino danglers (in the image above). These are simply a miniature streamer, however, instead of making them 2-4" large you make them .5 - 1" wide and hang them from the ceiling downwards. They may bump into people's heads but that's fine.
These are a great way to decorate but if you don't have time then we suggest checking ShindigZ.com - the World's Largest Party Superstore as they have a large selection of casino party decorations at a reasonable price.
