Casino Night Party - Fake Money
One of the keys to any casino night party is the money or chips. You will need a combination of paper money and poker chips depending on which games you will have at the party. However, the one thing you will want to ensure is that you have money and obviously, you don't want to use real money for logistical and legal reasons. However, it's great to have money that looks and feels like real money. The best source that we've found is U.S. toy fake money found here.
U.S. Toy fake money is great as it's not that expensive as you get 1000 sheets of fake money per order. It also comes in denominations of 1, $5, $10, $20, $50, $100,$500, $1000.
Another option is the fake casino cash which only includes 100 pieces at a lower cost. The reviews on this cash says it looks and feels too large which may or may not be an option depending on how 'exact' you'd like your party to be. Check it out here.
One of the best ways to run the party is to give each person who comes to the party a set amount of money. Then at the end of the night see who has the most money! Or you can also have 'prizes' where people can 'bet' on each item.
Dealer Costumes For Casino Night Party
When hosting a casino themed party you'll need to either hire professional dealers or volunteers to run the games. We've seen both methods work quite successfully at casino parties. Whichever method you choose be sure to give your dealers some appropriate wear for the evening.

A fun idea that we've seen at parties with a dress-code of semi-formal or higher and assuming you are choosing volunteers as dealers for the evening. You tell a few guests who have volunteered to help out being your dealer. The idea is that you get them to dress as a dealer for the night and not the proper dress code. They can then play the role of the dealer for the night even when they are not dealing!
If you'd rather not put extra work on your guests then we recommend you provide them with a costume or at least a few props. You can buy the props from most online costume stores like Costumekingdom.com or ShindigZ.com
. However, you (or they) can easily make a dealers costume with a few simple props. Most of these supplies are available at second-hand stores. The basics supplies necessary are a viser and vest, preferably green or something tacky. For a few more details you can get some Vegas paraphernalia.
Dealers are an important part of any casino party and can actually become a source of conversation. Incorporating the dealers in the evenings activities makes them feel like they're not missing the party by being a dealer. So consider giving your guests and dealers something to discuss by providing them with a costume.

You don't want to be stuck in the kitchen cooking food when everyone else is out having fun gambling at your tables.
Chips & Crisps - Chips and crisps are great to have at your party as they can be placed throughout your party for your guests to munch on while gambling.
Finger Foods - Finger foods are intended to put a bit of food in your belly, however, you aren't required to feed people dinner for the night. Some idea of finger food are vegetable sticks, pork riblettes, chicken wings, etc...
Non-Alcoholic Drinks - You will want to ensure you have juice and soda. There is nothing worse than being a designated driver and not finding something to drink at a party.
Alcoholic Drinks - You may or may not be serving alcoholic drinks at your party. If you are serving the alcohol then consider reading out article about running a bar at a casino party.

Sending out invitations is an important part to any party and even for a casino themed party. You have the option of online invitations or paper invitations. Here are some things you'll want to ensure are on the invitations.

- What - ie: casino party celebrating....
- Place (Location)
- Time
- Directions
- What to bring (if anything)
- Dress Attire (costume? black tie? semi-formal?)
- Cost (if anything)
You'll also want to include various other details like what time the casino and/or bar opens and closes. As well, it's always a good idea to write please drink responsibly (or something of that nature). Remember that it's better to include more information rather then too little. Most people will skim the invitation when they receive it to get the gist and respond accordingly. Then a few days before (or the day of the party) they will re-read the invitation for directions and more pertinent information. Be sure to include enough information that everyone can dress, act and get to the right location appropriately!
How Much To Spend On Casino Party Favors
Casino favors are a normal part of most casino parties. It's quite interesting because at most parties party favors aren't included, however, for some reason at casino night parties party favors are normal. This could be due to the fact that the night is all about gambling and winning stuff similar to Vegas. Therefore, getting some sort of small parting gift is a usual part of the casino night evening.
Depending on the number of guests you have this can become quite expensive. So what is a good amount to spend on a casino party favor? The amount really depends on how much you are planning to spend, number of guests, etc... However, spending between $1-$10 is a good estimate where the average is probably around $3-4.
When buying your party favor that you can also buy something that will be useful for the casino evening. This includes poker chips or mint tins. You can then place the mint tins throughout the house and people can have a mint whenever they want with a larger pile at the door for when people are leaving. This allows the mints to be a decoration, useful item and party favor which is a great way to maximize your dollars!
Remember, simply using a little bit of creativity and ingenuity you can have a party favor that won't break the bank and will help decorate your casino!

Blackjack - Rules, Supplies and Payouts
Blackjack is one of the simplest and funnest games to have at your casino themed party. You will definitely want a blackjack table (or two) at your casino as it usually ends up being one of the most popular games. This is because almost everyone knows blackjack so it's less intimidating and funner for some. This also works great for you because finding dealers who will volunteer to run Blackjack is much easier too!
Here are the basic rules in point form
- All players are dealt two cards (face up) and the dealer is dealt 1 card down and 1 card up.
- The sum of your cards is your point total where ace's are 1 or 11 and Jack, queen and king are considered a 10.
- The players are trying to beat the dealer
- The dealer must hit until he/she has something higher then 16.
- If the player wins he/she gets double their bet. Loses they lose their bet. If they get 21 off of their first two cards they get 1.5 to 1.
Those are the basic rules. If you are a blackjack aficionado my instructions are probably considered over simplified, however, you don't want your casino party night to be intimidating. It's best to keep things simple to help everyone out!
Blackjack Supplies
- 1 (or more) decks of cards. We recommend 3-6 as your dealer won't have to continually shuffle the deck. If you decide on one deck then purchasing a Playing Card Shuffler Each
is an absolute must. The card shuffler really speeds up play so people don't get bored!
- Table Felts: Casino Game Layouts for Blackjack
are a great way to make your game look and feel more realistic!
- Dealer: you will want 1 volunteer for each hour that the table will run.
- Card Shoe Each
- The card shoe is where you put the cards for dealing. It's not needed but really adds that extra special blackjack touch!
- Chips
for the dealer to payout to each player
Hopefully you now understand the basics of the game and have an idea of how you will setup your blackjack table!

Casino Bar - How To Run A Bar For A Casino Themed Party
May 7, 2009 by admin
Almost every casino in the world has some sort of bar or bar service at the casino. Your casino themed party should be no different and here is a great way to make the bar an activity in itself.
Running a casino bar at your casino party can actually be quite a bit of fun. Simply take the alcohol and non-alcoholic drinks and put them behind the bar. If you don't have a bar then take a room or corner of a room place the drinks behind that and a table in the front. Then assign shifts as the bartender to people who volunteer to help out with your casino night.
Your guests can 'buy' drink with their casino chips or winnings. This is great way to involve those people who don't enjoy gambling as they can still use their 'money' to buy drinks. It is also great because people will take the 'fake money' more seriously as they can actually use the money to buy drinks.
If you are planning on doing this casino bar it is much easier if you provide the alcohol. A few suggestions to ensure that this doesn't cost you too much.
- Tell people that small donations are accepted for drinks.
- Assign specific types of alcohol's to people coming to the party.
- Ensure that everyone doesn't drink and drive
When running your casino themed party try adding this 'cash' bar to your party. You will find that it's fun and interactive. Don't be surprised if you hear someone begging for some money from a friend for a drink.
Casino Theme Party Ideas
Holding a casino themed party is a great way to celebrate any occasion be it Birthday, anniversary or graduation. The great thing about the casino themed party is that it is a very interactive evening and allows guests to mingle freely. You'll often find that your friends will meet many new people during the evening as they were both playing at the same roulette or blackjack table.
Here are a few ideas to make your casino themed party a success.

Interactive Casino Games
One of the key elements to a casino themed party is to have everyone interact. Therefore, it's always a good idea to have interactive games that everyone will enjoy playing while visiting with others. To that extent, we recommend only having a single texas hold'em poker table. Poker is a fun game that everyone knows and enjoys, however, it isn't super social or interactive. If you have too many poker tables you'll find that everyone will get quite serious. This is the not the ambiance that you want at your party.
Non-Gambling Activities
It is also good to have non-gambling related games at your casino party. These games can provided a fun alternative to those who don't like or do not gamble. Some suggestions of non-gambling games are karaoke, rockband, bingo, a photo booth or even a silly pin the jack on the ace (like pin the tail on the donkey but with a jack and ace).
Prizes
Another great idea for your casino themed party is allow people to spend their fake money on tickets. The tickets will allow them to be entered into a prize draw for certain prizes. This works really well if you have multiple prizes so your guests can determine which prize they want to try and win. This becomes part of the entertainment itself!
Hopefully these simple ideas for your casino theme party can help you plan the best party ever. Remember that the whole idea of your party is for everyone to have a good time.
